I'm an Interaction Designer, Creative Technologist, Digital Producer and Educator working on innovation in immersive & interactive media experiences, projection mapping, sensor based media installations and work with mixed & augmented reality.
I am the Programme Leader for the MA Immersive Arts and a Director at the Experimental Technologies Lab in the Institute for Art and Technology in Liverpool. I also often work as an associate project producer/research fellow at Liverpool University's Centre for Architecture and Visual Arts. Previous academic roles include Curriculum Development Lead at Manchester School of Digital Arts (SODA, Manchester School of Art, MMU) and Lecturer/Researcher at Coventry School of Art & Design in the Centre for Disruptive Media.
I co-direct the Immersive Liverpool Cluster Network, working with over 60 companies and organisations developing in Immersive and Entertainment Technology in the North West UK, with whom I have developed several projects, events and collaborations. In 2014, I started the pioneering Immersive Storylab as an R&D collective to explore the potential of mixed reality storytelling.
My commercial work includes commissions, consultancy & collaboration with organisations such as UNESCO, BBC, Aardman, BT, Granada TV, United Nations, Avid, NHS, JISC, the FA, Sport England, Virgin as well as work with a variety of SMEs, Cultural Organisations, Charities & Brands. I have also led and developed a number of funded research and development projects with organisations such as the AHRC, Arts Council, Heritage Lottery, Digital Catapult, UNDP, HEFCE and JISC.
I am also a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts and the Higher Education Academy as well as being a dad of two wonderful children.
